Introduction I am a social worker, a writer, a 2011-2012 LEND Fellow, and the mother of three children. LEND stands for Leadership Education in Neuro-developmental Disabilities. The fellowship has been an eye-opening, huge learning experience. I became interested in learning more about disabilities because my almost-18-year-old twin sons have significant learning disabilities. The reason I started this blog is so that people can find the wonderful picture books that are out there and so that authors might be inspired to write more quality picture books that portray characters with varying abilities. My husband Roni and I lived in Israel with our children from1995 until 2006 and then relocated to Massachusetts. We have a beautiful daughter, Hadar, who is 12 years old and loves to dance. Our twins, Shai and Nadav, are doing well despite their disabilities. Nadav recently got his driver's license and is planning to apply to a four-year college in the fall. Shai is taking high school more slowly and will probably spend a 5th year in order to meet all of his requirements. He enjoys sports broadcasting, and both boys love the Boston Celtics and Red Sox.
