| Introduction | Army Brat who spent his youth globetrotting and finally settling in Virginia. Spent 20 years in the Army after graduating fom Old Dominion University. First career went something like this, Ft Gordon, GA, Ft. Sill, OK, Ft. Gordon (again), Air Force Institute of Tech, Dayton, OH - Frankfurt Germany, Clemson University, Clemson -SC, West Point - NY, Okinawa, Japan, Annapolis MD. Retired as an LTC in July 1999. Because the Army saw fit to send me to grad school prior to teaching Systems Engineering at West Point, I made some great Operations Research contacts, through which, I was able to get a great job with the MITRE Corp. (DoD's Federally Funded R&D Corp., similar to RAND) and move back to the Tidewater, Virginia area. Close to my folks and I was able get my two sons into Cox High (where I finished) and buy a house on the water. Worked for MITRE supporting the US Joint Forces Command (Suffolk, VA) for five years til Sept 2004 when the US Govt and I finally came to terms on $$ and benefits so I took a position as a GS-15 Operations Research Analyst. That was 2004. Still there. BTW, eldest son a 1LT in the Army and youngest is an Engineer with a defense contractor. Pattern? |
