| Introduction | I hope that I can be a small part of helping save lives from suicide loss, help those who are struggling or who have family members who are struggling as well as help those who have been impacted by suicide. Personally, I am a suicide attempt survivor and I have family members who struggle or who have struggled with suicidal thoughts and attempts. I try to share those experiences to help provide education, awareness, and support. Professionally I am a licensed professional counselor as well as a certified substance use disorder counselor. I have more than 20 years’ experience in this field. I am faculty for Zero Suicide Institute. I serve as a board member for United Suicide Survivors International and for the Missouri Association of Treatment Courts. I am member of the Missouri Suicide Prevention Network as well as a member of the American Association of Suicidology. I work to combine my lived experience, as a suicide attempt survivor with my professional training to help provide support to anyone impacted by suicide while trying to help provide education to help reduce and prevent suicide. |
