Introduction	The County of Cornwall Athletics Association has been around since the 1960's under different names. The association was formed to coordinate the Western Athletics Championships (West Champs) which is an annual track meet between schools in western Jamaica. In the early days, the championship consisted of two meets; "Girls West Champs" and "Boys West Champs". Today these meets a combined into one single meet spanning 3 days. The first day is the Boys Eliminations, the second day is the Girls Eliminations and the third day is the Combined Grand Finals, which can see upwards of 1,000 athletes participating.
