| Introduction | A non-fiction writer, a cartoonist, an explorer, Bibek Sengupta brought up in Kolkata, now stays in Bangalore. Features on wide range of subjects written by him appeared in various prestigious journals and periodicals across India. Each of his subjects comes alive from his personal experience through travel-trove expeditions, making use of the opportunities to visit legendary places, all followed by exhaustive research. Outcome so far has been the 3 books authored by him published from Times Group Books (A division of The Times of India). His books on World Cup Football have been added to FIFA World Football Museum Library in Zurich, Switzerland. Like his writings, Bibek's cartoons on social aspects and daily life hysteria too received acclaim from readers. His awareness cartoons during recent pandemic were applauded by news media. Iconic Indian Cartoon Gallery hosted a month-long exhibition of his published cartoons in 2019. Bibek is also part of National Advisory Committee of Bangalore's Indian Institute of Cartoonists (one of its kind organization in India that preserves and promotes art and rich heritage of cartooning) and the Editor of their journal 'CartoonistsIndia'. |
