Introduction Peter Went, PhD, CFA, is the co-author with Richard Apostolik and Christopher Donohue of "Foundations of Banking Risk: An Overview of Banking, Banking Risks, and Risk-Based Banking Regulation", an innovative and practitioner oriented overview of banking risk and regulation published by Wiley. At the GARP Research Center, Peter develops innovative risk management resources for financial institutions, conducts research on financial risk management topics, and co-heads GARP's academic outreach activities. Peter is also a member of the board of Woodlands Financial Services Corporation. Previously, he was a professor of finance at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, taught at the University of Nebraska, and at the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary, and worked as an investment analyst for a Nordic boutique investment firm in Stockholm. He has published numerous articles in finance journals. Peter holds a PhD in Finance, a graduate degree in economics, a professional degree in law, and is Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®).
