| Introduction | I'm currently finishing a study of Taizong (Li Shimin), second emperor of the Tang dynasty, his poetry (and other writings), and his understanding of sovereign representation. My next two projects will be (1) a co-edited volume of essays on gossip in traditional China; and (2) a study of the Shishuo xinyu (Recent Anecdotes and the Talk of the Age), an important compilation of gossip and memorable anecdotes from early medieval China. I also like cats. |
