Introduction Parent Resources for Information, Development and Education - PRIDE - is a model for the development and support of families in adoption and fostering. The PRIDE pre-service program is a nine module, 27-hour training which is interconnected with the SAFE homestudy process. The PRIDE curriculum covers the following areas: Connecting with PRIDE Teamwork Towards Permanency Meeting Developmental Needs Attachment Loss Strengthening Family Relationships Meeting Developmental Needs Discipline Continuing Family Relationships Planning for Change Making an Informed Decision Adoption Panel These new models provide a structured standardized framework for preparing and assessing families wishing to adopt domestically, privately or internationally. Effective January 1, 2008, persons wishing to adopt must complete the PRIDE training program.
