| Introduction | I am a retired elementary school teacher. I was born in upstate New York, went to school in Westchester County outside New York City, finished my degree in Colorado. I began my career on the Navajo Reservation, on the first non-BIA school ever. I LOVED it! The area was extremely remote...we didn't even get TV reception most of the time the first few years I was there. Then I moved to Las Vegas, which was a remarkable place in the early 1970's. Fun, fascinating, the BEST place to live in the USA at the time. From there to Tehran, Iran, after I married a much older man who was an executive in the petroleum industry. Left after 3 or 4 years, came back to Las Vegas and have lived here since. |

Why do people abandon their companion animals? IIs it ever acceptable?
