IntroductionI am a twenty-two-year-old college student working on a Bachelor's (still), ultimately endeavoring to attain a Ph.D. so I can teach Lit. on a collegiate level. My world was just turned upside down (more so than usual) when, on May 18th, 2010, this juxtaposition, dichotomy, tattoo-loving, passionate, aimlessly wandering, vagabond, unmarried gypsy found out she is going to have a baby.
InterestsWriting, reading from time-to-time, deep, philosophical thinking, my love, preparing for the future with a new (and very much a surprise) baby, lots and lots of strong black coffee with a splash of organic milk, now that I am pregnant, Chic-Fil-A and Sweet Tea, British Literature, Latin (and my Latin professor), The Razor Blade Teacher (David Strong, Ph.D.), tattoos, all kinds of music--I am a hard-core lyrics fan...if the lyrics are meaningful and move me, then I love the song. It's not a matter of genre to me.
Favorite moviesThe Harry Potter Series (can't wait until 11.2010 and 6.2011!). Braveheart. The Patriots. Angels and Demons. The Calendar Girls. The Phantom of the Opera. How to Train Your Dragon. The Godfather Series. And I am sure there are more.
Favorite musicFar too much to name. I am in a super huge Adam Lambert phase. I love lyrics, melody, and voices. And even as someone just this side of an Atheist, I still listen to Southern Gospel Quartet music on a regular basis. To me, it's about talent and meaning. I love a great deal of country, both old and new (think from Johnny Cash and George Jones to Garth Brooks to Rascal Flatts), Classic Rock, and modern-day (i.e. Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, Train, etc.). Mostly, it's sometimes a matter of not liking an artist specifically (although there are many that I ardently follow), but more of a liking of a certain song or two of his/hers/or theirs.
Favorite booksHamlet, The Harry Potter Series, Sex God and Velvet Elvis by Rob Bell. The Picture of Dorian Gray. Heart of Darkness. Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl (the most important book I have prolly ever read in my life), The Sunflower (Simon Wiesenthal), Night (Eli Wiesel). Mostly, I really enjoy a great deal of poetry.
