| Introduction | Recent English Literature graduate, who studied the work of Carl Jung in relation to mythology and the importance of dreams. Sometimes, my dreams feel as solid as real life. What seperates reality from dream? Is it sensation; is it solidity; is it emotion? I seem to experience these things in my dreams. If reality is individual - the manner in which I filter the world, then what are dreams? According to Jung, dreams told of archetypal, genetic stories and meanings. Some of my dreams seem to have mythic significannce (dark, cavernous places for example. My father etc.) But, much more often, things that happened during the day are re-hashed through a different filter, and become the dreams listed here. I hope to find, in keeping a dream diary, patterns and themes that have relevance to my life. |
