IntroductionI must start by admitting that I'm a "brain", a nerd--I love learning. BA in Chemistry at an Ivy League University, then worked toward a Ph.D. in a medical science at a top medical school. Continued classes at the graduate level in several different areas, especially psychology and neuropsychology. After doing valuable research in my own area of expertise, I regretfully left when it became evident even to me that I was too sick to continue.
InterestsWorking and playing with my service dog, reading--fiction & many assorted non-fiction areas, miniatures (1:12, 1:4, and 1:144 scale)--I just started a collector's-quality dollhouse--the one of my dreams, and I also make much of the furniture and dress the dolls, quilting (including crazy quilting), plus a number of other arts and crafts, including some "disappearing" ones like making bobbin lace and tatting.
Favorite moviesPhantom of the Opera, Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music, Gone with the Wind, Miracle on 34th Street (the original), The Maltese Falcon, The Wizard of Oz, Dr. Zhivago,...
Favorite booksThe Chronicles of Narnia, The Screwtape Letters, Flatland, The Little Prince, The Merck Manual, science and science fiction books by Robert Heinlein, novels by Dostoevsky--especially Crime and Punishrment, Edward Eager's children's books, The Secret Garden, the Harry Potter series, the intriguing books by Oliver Sachs(?), the Mrs. Pollifax mysteries...
