| Introduction | Jim and Barbara McNamee arrived in Madrid, Spain on November 21, 2004 to start Young Life in Spain. After 31 years as a public high school teacher and coach (26 years in Oak Ridge, Tennessee) Jim became the first area director of Spain. For over 20 years Barbara was involved in pregnancy care ministry, initially as a volunteer and later as the Choices Resource Center director. Now, after five years working with International students in the Madrid area, the McNamees are transitioning to “national ministry.” In YoungLife terms that basically means they will be focusing their ministry on Spanish teens. Jim and Barbara have three grown children. Katherine lives in Nashville, TN with husband Jeremy Cornelius and new son, Wyatt. Daniel lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Virginia and daughter, Riley. And Mary lived in Nashville where she taught Spanish to students at Maplewood High. She hopes to teach in Madrid for 2009-2010. The Lord called Jim and Barbara to Madrid and YoungLife through their interest and love for teenagers and their love for the Spanish people. |
