| Introduction | I moved to Maine in 1985, after living in PA and NJ for most of my "growing up" years. I am the second child in a family of five kids. I graduated from York High School in 1987. I attended Johnson State College from 1987-1991 where I earned my Bachelors of Arts degree in Hotel/ Hospitality Management with a Minor in Mathematics. I got married in 1994 to a wonderful man named Tom York. We had two beautiful daughters together; Allison and Jessica. My husband passed away from cancer in 2004 after a short 10 month illness. I was a multiple business owner from 1993-2006. In 2006, I decided to sell all of my businesses and become a teacher. I finally found out who (as a career woman) I wanted to be when I grew up...a teacher! I attended USM, where I received my Masters of Science in eacing and Learning and my Maine state teacing certificate. I am the 7th/8th grade Alternative Education Teacher at YMS. I love to workout with weights, ride my bike, hike and hang out with my kids. I also love to travel and have plans to be a travel teacher by the time I turn 50. Earning a living doing what you love the most! Isn't that what life's all about? |
