| Introduction | I love my job as a middle school English teacher. This will be my 9th year and it's getting better and easier every year. In November 2007, we welcomed our beautific and amazing baby Ishmael (aka Baba). He is the joy of my life. In 2009, we were blessed again with another baby, our daughter Derah. Before they came along, I did go through some hard times: In 2006, my mom passed away suddenly from congestive heart failure. In early 2007, we lost our baby, who was stillborn at 7 months. I'm hoping we've had enough bad luck! My goals for 2012 include writing more poetry and fiction, spending time with my two beautiful babies, and being creative whenever I can.
