| Introduction | R.K. Laxman's common man is an inspiration . His power of observance is remarkable ,his silence speaks louder than a Thousand words. The pathos he conveys is so true to the present state of our nation. We observe everything, speak on issues of social concern within the safe environs of our home and are generally indifferent about everything. My desire is to become a common man who just does not observe and keeps silent, but be the common man in circa 1857 who rose up in revolt against an oppressive system. The time has come for a second independence movement. This is not a political statement but an assertion from truth. An Independence from FEAR ,HUNGER, LAWLESSNESS, ANARCHY ,OPPRESSION and similar SOCIAL EVILS. I firmly believe that if faith can move mountains , then a common man can change the destiny of the nation. |
