Introduction I teach adults advanced sewing, fitting and personal pattern making and basic sewing at Atlanta Technical College. Classes build skills from beginner to advanced sewing skills. The program covers methods and techniques of construction, basic pattern fitting and drafting, accurate cutting, marking and stitching, how to read and use a pattern, how to select fabric for your projects. Several workshops are also offered covering specific construction projects for apparel and home décor. Small group classes allow for plenty of one on one instruction. Private lessons are also available. I am a lifelong sewing enthusiast who has taught for the local chapter of the American Sewing Guild for several years. I design and make my own patterns and sew all types of garments, bags and home decor. I have expertise in fitting, designing from a sloper or basic pattern and pattern drafting. I have certifications in pattern drafting, draping, garment construction and tailoring. I studied fashion design and garment construction at Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona and have created apparel and décor for feature films and television productions.
