My blogs
| Introduction | I'm not a pet person. That seems like a terrible thing to say, now a days. I like cats and dogs, but don't want to live with them. I'm a retired nurse practitioner. I'm very lucky (knock wood) to be in good health. The freedom in my life at this point is a very positive thing. To come and go as I please and know I always have family and friends I can stay in touch with, to keep me grounded, is a blessing. Speaking of blessings, I'm not religious in most ways, but I am a Unitarian Universalist, a wonderful religion which says it's OK to think about God, spirituality, or what ever you see as the life force , and change your mind about it. It's called thinking and we like it. So finding another UU can be a way for me to find a friend. |

| Interests | People and cultures. I enjoy meeting people and attempting to learn what makes them tick. I'm very interested in other cultures and ways of life. I like to travel and have learned I like traveling alone. I've had a few trips on my own, staying in hostels, where people from all over the world can be found. It's an easy way to meet people. Sometimes I find a friend to travel with for a while, and sometimes it's just someone to learn about or share a meal with. At any rate, this prevents loneliness. i also like the challenge of traveling on my own, where I have to figure out everything I need to do. When I'm with someone I tend to rely on them. I like adventure. I also need the link to family. A phone call to speak with family or friend gives me the strength to keep on keeping on. I'm proud of my little bicostal family and love them dearly. I like to cook- It can be quite a creative process, combining things to come up with something new. |
| Favorite music | Usually classical. I love the cello, which I'm told is most like the human voice of any instrument. But my taste is very eclectic. I love latin music, and I love to dance, even if it's only by myself. |
