Introduction	Hi and welcome to the League of Women Voters of Manhattan,Riley County blog. We are a part of the League of Women Voters of Kansas and the LWV of the United States. The League, which began in 1920, is a nonpartisan political organization. We do not support or oppose candidates or political parties or any groups that support candidates. Our mission is to encourage informed and active participation in government and to influence public policy through education and advocacy. This blog is for busy Kansans who want to learn more about current local and state issues that affect their every-day lives and their future. Blog contributers: Jean Lee wil be the blog moderator and provide much of the general content and news updates. The perspectives of other League members, who have expertise in local and state issues will be sought. We hope to interview local and state elected officials.
