| Introduction | Scott has served as the pulpit minister for the Preston Road Church of Christ in Dallas, Texas the past 13 years. He recently completed his DMin in Evangelism from Southern Methodist University. Scott married Suzanne Matula of Gregory Portland, Texas, on June 11, 1994. They have been married now for 15 years and have two children, Anna and Will. Scott is an ACU alumnus and was recognized as ACU Honor Man in 1987. Scott’s undergraduate degree is in Business Management and he also received Masters degrees in Bible and Divinity. He was involved on campus in many different activities including serving as Student Body President and he studied for a semester in Jerusalem while in graduate school. |
| Interests | He serves on the board of the Christian Relief Fund where his focus is on supporting AIDS Orphans in Africa. In Dallas, he is the Director of Christ’s Family Ministries, a fully functioning health clinic serving the working poor and located inside the PRCC building. Scott’s interest in the relationship of faith and health caused him to participate in the creation of The Institute for Faith Health Research. He also serves on the Advisory Board of New Friends New Life, a ministry helping women leave sexually oriented businesses for new life in Jesus Christ. Scott is a member of SMU professor William Abraham’s “Polycarp Project,” a small colloquium of minister/scholars working for renewal within the local church. His present focus among the Polycarp Fellows is the renewal of preaching, with a focus upon the preaching of Peter Marshall. Prior to moving to Dallas, he was the managing editor of Campus CrossWalk with Milton Jones, and was on the National Campus Ministry Board. Scott continues to work with Boy Scouts whenever possible, and contributes his love for nature and the outdoors to the years he spent in scouting obtaining the Eagle Scout and God and Country Awards. |
