| Introduction | Senior Venerable Thich Nguyen Tang was born in 1967 in Nha Trang City, Vietnam. He left home for staying in the temple when small and became a Novice Monk in 1980. He received his Samanera Ordination in 1985 and Bhikkhu Ordination in 1988. In 1997 he earned Bachelor degree in Buddhism Major, right just before coming to Australia (1998). He is currently Deputy-Abbot of Quang Duc Buddhist Monastery in the Melbourne, the suburb of Fawkner, Victoria. Senior Venerable Thich Nguyen Tang officially became a member of the Chaplain Council (Healthcare Chaplaincy Council of Victoria) on 1st July 1998. He regularly visits and comforts the patients in the hospitals and the inmates in prisons of the state. In 2006, He received Bachelor of Sociology at Latrobe University. He is the founder and Webmaster of Quang Duc Website (www.quangduc.com) since May 1999.
