Introduction	I am particularly influenced by the ongoing history of dress in Europe, especially Britain: the construction and decoration of garments and the social and cultural factors that underpin shifts in fashion. My study of historical dress has informed my interest in traditional European handcrafts such as weaving, knitting, crochet, embroidery and patchwork; many of which I use in my design work. Living in a period where the handmade is being re-evaluated for it’s ‘personal’ touch I enjoy the somewhat ironic fusion of the intimate handmade object with a pop art, cubist and dada aesthetic.
