| Introduction | I have spent the last 10 years mainly living in a woodland in the Sierra Aracena in southern Spain. I became more interested in environmental concerns when teaching and my drama group put on a play called ‘Oh What a Wonderful World’ in 2006/7. When I left my career in teaching in 2013 I began my nature journey with a blog and helping some natural history courses in the Sierra. I was also inspired to write while exploring the biodiversity around me. Understanding and having empathy with our natural world is crucial for me. |
