IntroductionI started working for Ecology's Nuclear Waste Program in 2010, educating the public about the Hanford Nuclear Site outside Richland, WA. In 2014, I moved to Olympia and began communicating about preventing, managing, disposing and cleaning up all kinds of waste. In late 2015, I moved back to the area in which I grew up, Spokane, and started working for Ecology's Toxics Cleanup Program. So you’ll find my posts cover all kinds of waste-related topics, from Hanford to recycling to getting toxic chemicals out of consumer products to cleaning up old industrial sites. Please contact me with any questions, comments or ideas you have. As a public servant, it is my goal to make government understandable, expedient and reflective of your needs. I would love to hear from you! More about Erika: - Born and raised in Newport, Washington - Lifetime Washingtonian, aside from 3.5 years living on Alaska's Kenai Peninsula - Earned a Bachelor's in Fine Art and a Master's in Scientific and Technical Communication from Eastern Washington University
