| Introduction | I have a wife and two children, a son Austin and a daughter Aubrey. My wife didn't follow baseball until she met me in 1995 and slowly the Red Sox pulled her in. She rarely misses a game and can hold her own in any argument with a Yankee fan. My daughter, who was born during the summer run of 2007, is still too young to know what she has got herself into. My son, who was born just months before Boone beat us in 2003 loves the Red Sox as much as I do. I am so glad that they get to grow up in a world where 1918 is just a date, in a world where they expect the best to happen instead of waiting for the worst, and in a world where the Red Sox jersey is just a little lighter on their shoulders than the jersey was on mine. |
