| Introduction | This isn't about me..... ::soft smile::not really. At least not the reason I am writing this. It's because I love my Aunt June who has recently passed over and because I belong to her "tribe" too. Our family. My family who I miss and am too far away geographically from right now (and for wayyy too long time wise). And because I've been honored and invited to share my thoughts and feelings by Cherie and Elana. (Love you both dearly) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Okay....this is the next day with being a blog newbie and I've decided to take it a step further and let my family get to know me better and who ever else reads this. About me? Well...newly and happily divorced....but still dealing with the legal hassels of it. ::soft sigh:: Alimony is just another way of saying "he still controls me." ::shaking head:: Not a man of integrity unfortunately....but...no more going "there." I probably will erase that last comment later after the storm. Karma is as karma does....or is it kmart? ::winks:: Looking forward to this next part of my life...the best I feel...is yet to come. |
| Interests | Love...our hearts...spirit...life...family....friends...many people's truths and love again. Insightful quotes. Personal stuff...watching my 2 college age girls discover life. Learning from and meeting interesting people. Being aware of life's synchronicities and subtle messages. Sunset colors. Warm beach sand under my bare feet. Redwood tree's and forests. Clear running streams to drink from. Avoiding toxic people...at least for me, but respectful of their right to be here.I know the value of hard work. Being organized even though it may look like chaos to someone else...it's organized for me.I am working on writing a book about my Father...he was an incredible man...he raised me from age 10 years old on....he taught me love is action....not only words. And his actions always showed me how much he loved me. My Knight in Shining Armor. Yeah...I was lucky. |
| Favorite movies | Snuggling with family or friends while watching a movie is my "favorite" way to watch a movie. Hard to name a favorite. I saw "Crash" with Don Cheetle and loved it. Oh! I love Japanese movies with or without sub-titles...old or new. I'm a kinda strange person ::laughs:: Dexter, Weeds, L-Word and Tudor...Showtime shows. Anything with Jackie Chan. Fried Green Tomatoes. The House of "D". The Illusionist recently. I don't like horror movies, but my daughter does and she loves to "lovingly torture" me by telling me "Hey, Mama...come on...watch this with me....it really isn't that scarey." Ha!!! I fall for it every time and spend the night listening for strange unwanted sounds! I kinda shy away from movies that are really violent just for "violence sake"...but it too has a part in life.I just don't like how I feel after watching them....(like horror movies my imp, Sami!) It also depends on what I need from a movie at that moment what I choose to watch depending on my mood or need.I still get a laugh from "Faulty Towers" episodes and AbFab. Love BBC humor! |
| Favorite music | Most Any....from Eva Cassidy....Bill Evans...Garth Brooks earlier music...some classical is so beautiful it makes me cry. Older 60's and 70's music. My daughter Sami has played some of the better rap type music for me and I can appreciate where they are coming from. Eminem has a few songs that really touched me. I'm not into techno or club stuff. The beat alone makes my heartbeat race.....cardiac coming!! :::grin:: but she's got good taste. I like some of the remixes of older soft rock songs to the newer rhythmn's. Some folk songs...I used to write them when I was a teen. |
| Favorite books | Any...love reading. From Epic Fantasy series(Fiest, Eddings, Jordan Weiss....currently Laurell K. Hamilton) involving Dragons, Hero's, Faeries and magical worlds to Historical Fiction (Margaret George)to poetry.....from e.e. cummings to R.L. Stevenson to my favorite.....and reading my adult/children's work.I love Sami's poetry.Haven't heard much from Sara lately but I know she's a talented writer too. I also have an incredible art book collection. Life is good. ::soft smile:: |
