| Introduction | More than anything, this blog is an attempt to get myself writing regularly again. I seem to be motivated only by deadlines, so I plan to make this a screening log, writing a bit about each movie I see before I watch another one. Also, I have a bad habit of remembering liking or not liking a movie, but being unable to articulate a reason why just a few weeks later -- and I'm not talking a line of dialogue or even a specific scene, I'm talking stuff like who lives and who dies. Hopefully, looking at these little snapshots -- maybe even the process of recording them -- will help me remember important things about what the hell I've been doing with so many hours of my life. Lastly, I've gotten pretty high-and-mighty about my students keeping blogs, so I guess you could say I'm also trying to sidestep hypocrisy here, too. |
