| Introduction | I think I can best sum up my thoughts on teaching (and writing) with Isaac Asimov's words: "I write for the same reason I breathe - because if I didn't, I would die." I am a teacher of 4th grade writers, readers, mathematicians, scientists, historians, artists, musicians, dreamers, visionaries, inventors... you name it, the list goes on. But when it all comes down to it, they are children, and I encourage their uniqueness while shoving away the neat and tidy box we try so often to place them in. Learning, like life, is messy. It's a good thing a little mess never scared me. |
