| Introduction | I was raised as a Seventh Day Adventist, but at age 10, my parents divorced and we all went our separate spiritual ways. I have lived in Spartanburg, SC my whole life, but my family is far from traditional "southern". After I graduated high school in May of 2011, I lived in Germany for 8 months with a friend and her family. I lived in a small "green" city called Freiburg, where I rode my bike to work and worked with mentally and physically handicapped kids, a job much harder than I had bargained for. It was a good year with many challenges, but I grew as a person and made many life-lasting friends. I worked this summer in Yosemite National Park and got to do a lot of cool new things. Now I am a student again and am double majoring in Psychology and Environmental Studies (this major will soon become an option). I want to go into Wilderness Therapy (hence, the psych major), but also keep my options open to working with sustainable non-profit organizations. My hobbies include yoga, music, books, board games, traveling, hiking, occasionally climbing, and currently watching Masterpiece Theater, among others. |
