| Introduction | Susan Taber Avila is an artist who uses textiles to enhance perception of contemporary culture. Her innovative machine stitched artwork is exhibited nationally and internationally, and her work has been published in numerous books and periodicals. From 1999-2010 she co-created and published, with Myra Block Kaiser, FiberScene.com, a website for promoting fine art with a textiles sensibility. She is currently Professor of Design (Fashion & Textiles) at the University of California Davis and a Sunshine Scholar at Wuhan Textile University in Wuhan, China. |
