| Introduction | Research states it takes an average of 11 years for a diagnosis with celiac disease as symptoms tend to be unspecific and vary from person to person. It took much longer for Christine to receive her diagnosis of celiac disease. Today, she is healthy, stronger and earnest to bring awareness of this disease to the public in hopes of helping others avoid her long journey to health. Her struggles with the gluten-free diet have given her a passion to help others adapt to this challenging diet. Her determination to educate is evident in her monthly column with the Medicine Hat News paper and with her monthly articles in Nutter’s Flyers. She volunteers as the Celiac Support Group Leader – Medicine Hat Chapter, She is also a gluten-free advisor for Nutter’s Bulk & Natural Food stores. Christine has always loved to bake and it's her passion for baking and cooking that inspired her own line of gluten-free products. She is the creator of Ooh La La...it’s gluten-free gourmet baking products. She also loves to consult/advise people just beginning this challenging diet and share her wealth of information to ease the confusion associated with this diet. |
