| Introduction | Since 1983 I have cared many special souls. Despite physical and behavioral difficulties they are often more concerned with others around them. Sure just like the humans you meet in your life, some of them become very self centered They can only think of the next soda or piece of cake. Maybe that was because of all those years that they had to live with others controlling there entire life. Imagine the window opening three times per day, one plate of food being given to you. One option is given to you, eat it or wait for the next plate? Can you do that? I am not sure what our country was thinking, the doctors told those beautiful Moms and Dads that all they could do was put them in an institution and walk away. The oddest thing to me is they did it! Our generation is differant we have learned to question everything and thank God for that! I met Laura my best friend in 2003, she and her Dad Tom are my life. Laura is handicapped like many of the people I have cared for over the years. But she is my special child, I never had any of my own because God planned for me to have her when I was ready to take the responsability of such a great kid! |
