IntroductionShana (SHAYnah) in Hebrew means "beauty" and Dubow is Slavic for “oak” which is why Isaiah 61:3 is one of Shana’s favorite bible verses. She is a Messianic Jew and her faith is reflected in her writing along with her passion for the downtrodden of this world. Originally writing poems and articles for non-profit publications, when a church requested a series of skits and a Christmas play, she decided to hone her story-telling skills. She received 2nd Place for Non-fiction in the WatchMeBounce.com 2012 Resilience Contest and Honorable Mention in the 2005 ReadingWriters.com Sci-Fi Short Story Contest. She is a member of the Macon Writers Group and currently working on her first novel. Her second fascination is music and dance. Other artistic endeavors include oil pastels, watercolors, crochet, jewelry making and cross stitch. Shana was born in Tennessee, raised in Atlanta, spent two years at the University of Georgia, married a military pilot, worked for various volunteer efforts through officers spouses clubs, a violence crisis center and church. Her husband retired from the military and enjoys working for Geek Squad. The family lives in Warner Robins, Georgia.
