| Introduction | My name is Jeff Schmidt and I am a nerd. I prefer the term geek, but let's call it like it is. I'm also a husband, a father, and a musician - not necessarily in that order. My current technology gig is at a top 10 pediatric hospital making clinical data useful for medical research. It's extremely challenging and lots of fun! It means finding the right mix of data warehousing, business intelligence, and application development to turn lots of ugly data into a nice sleek set of measurable parameters and then getting it into the hands of medical researchers who use it to change healthcare.
