Introduction In Jean Auel's novel "The Clan of the Cave Bear," there was a character called The Mogur, a cripled old man who was the wise, all-knowing one within the Clan. The name was bestowed upon me during a Selway River trip when I was leaning on a gnarly walking stick because of an ankle sprain, while sharing my wisdom about the best way to run the rapids of Moose Creek Canyon. I've been The Mogur ever since. I've been an avid rafter since 1973, and for several years in the late 80s and early 90s I owned a medium-sized whitewater rafting business that gave me the opportunity to float many of the great rivers of the Northwest, not just once, but many times. After selling the rafting business, I have applied what I learned as a river guide to my private rafting. I have established a core group of family and friends who join me on my river trips. We are The Clan of the Nose Hair.
