| Introduction | Established in 2009, White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood Uganda (WRA Uganda) is a National Alliance of individuals and organizations dedicated to saving the lives of women during pregnancy and childbirth in Uganda. WRA Uganda is part of and affiliated to the WRA Global. WRA movement has members in over 150 countries and Uganda being one of the 15 national alliances. Most of these alliances are in Africa and Asia, where the maternal mortality and morbidity is highest. The alliance is a membership movement that encourages participation regardless of sex, gender, religion, race, ethnicity, professional background in the promotion of safe motherhood. WRA-Uganda works at community, district, national and international levels. Vision: A Ugandan society free of preventable maternal and newborn deaths by 2021 Mission: To contribute to the reduction of maternal and newborn deaths through partnerships and advocacy at all levels.
