| Introduction | Jim began serving as Westchester Consumer Protection Director in 2018. He previously served 11 terms on Westchester Board of Legislators representing New Rochelle & Pelham (1998-2018). Jim held various leadership positions over 21 years: Vice Chair (2014-2017); Republican Minority Leader (2003, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013); Republican Minority Whip (2002, 2008, 2009); Rules Committee Co-Chair (2003); Hispanic Affairs Task Force Co-Chair (2014-2017); Public Works Committee Chair (2000-2001); and Intergovernmental Relations Committee Chair (2004-2005). Jim previously practiced law for 25 years: sole practitioner in New Rochelle (2011-2018 & 1996-2003); Special Counsel to NYS Senate Majority Leader (2011-2018); counsel with Crowell & Moring (2007-2011); and senior attorney with Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney (2003–2007). Throughout his career, Jim practiced in areas on commercial litigation, wills & estates, real estate, and government relations. He began his career at NYC firms for insurance defense (1994-1995) and commercial litigation (1992-1994). He was a small claims court arbitrator in New Rochelle City Court. Jim served as a Sergeant in US Marine Corps (1984-1988). |
