Introduction Ben Waller is a Battalion Chief with an East Coast Fire Department. Ben has 37 years of experience as a firefighter, paramedic, hazardous materials technician, and rescue specialist. He is a member of regional Hazmat and USAR teams. Ben's education includes a Master of Public Administration degree from Clemson University, a Bachelor's degree in Fire Administration from Memphis and the National Fire Academy, and a Paramedic Associate's degree from Chattanooga State. Ben is a voting member of the NFPA 1670 Technical Rescue committee, an NFPA Member, and an adjunct faculty instructor with the South Carolina Fire Academy where he is a member of the Rope Rescue and Water Rescue technical development committees. He is a contributing author to Fundamentals of Technical Rescue textbook and the Swiftwater & Flood Rescue Field Operations Guide, and is the Water Rescue Consulting editor for Technical Rescue Magazine.
