| Introduction | Cures Rock! is a former (now archived), grassroots organization that advocated and fundraised for cancer charities to fight to find a cure for cancer. The group worked to break down global silos and stigmas around cancer, created awareness about the disease in young adults, and inspired those impacted by the cancer through endurance sports, music and online social media. (Think of the challenges for pre-social media days...) This blog is edited by Julie Westcott, the Founder and Chief Advocate of Cures Rock! (Based in Carlsbad, CA). She's a 14 year survivor of AML leukemia. She was a mentor for Team in Training, and a marathon runner for Team Livestrong. She was honored to be a LIVESTRONG Summit Delegate; San Diego for LIVESTRONG Volunteer Leader. By day, she's a senior leader at a med tech company, MBA, PMP. By night, she's a non-profit social media, cause-marketing and fundraising geek with an intense passion to change the world. |
