| Introduction | I was born and raised in Kannapolis, NC. I graduated from Duke University in 2002 and from UNC-Chapel Hill School of Law in 2005. I work at a wonderful firm in Mooresville called Homesley & Wingo Law Group where I focus on family law. I represent clients in all phases of domestic law, from prenups through separation and divorce, including child custody & support, alimony, and property division. I am actually a big believer in marriage. My wife Stephanie and I live in Mooresville with our son Carter and daughter Natalie, and I cannot imagine my life for one second without them being there for me. Which raises the penultimate question - why write a divorce blog? However excruciating judges, accountants, and (yes) lawyers make the divorce process, husbands and wives continue to line up for it, so I am forced to conclude that a bad marriage must be worse than the messiest divorce. So, to the best of my ability, I will try to reach out with this blog to people considering divorce who have questions, concerns, and fears in the hope each reader can make a better individual decision about the path they will take. |
