| Introduction | Preserving family history has been a mission of mine since 1989. I have spent many hours tracing my ancestor's footsteps. Their stories always fascinate me. Through this blog, I hope to share these stories so that other cousins can appreciate their sacrifices. It is through our ancestors that our roots are established, and I've been digging these roots for a long time. In 1993, I became a member of DAR. It was a privilege to honor my 5th great grandfather, Conrad Sherertz Sr, for his service in the Revolution. Since then, I have found others who served in the Revolution. I enjoy nature and the outdoors. It seems to always bring me back to who I really am. I spend most of the summer at our cabin in the high mountains of Wyoming. There is a connectivity to the land, the history of our nation, and the setting down of roots. My family history is mostly American. The lines that I have researched lead me back to colonial times. I feel very rich for being part of that history. |
