| Introduction | Being born and raised in the Netherlands, I had the chance to indulge in all the different styles of food and cultures in Europe. However, the longing for a nice little house on the prairie grew stronger every day. Together with my partner Paul, we decided to escape the rat race in Europe and moved to New Zealand in 2009. The life we live now couldn't be more different from the one we lived overseas. Spending time on a (small) lifestyle block with some animals and a veggie garden has made us appreciate the basic things in life more. Therefore, we've decided to go back in time and produce our own food as much as possible. As a result, we eat our own bread, cheese, cakes, jams, preservatives, ice cream etc. And we wash it all away with a good pint of home brew (beer). |
