| Introduction | A little background... I have been a Southern California resident for most of my life. I have, however, spent two years teaching English in rural Japan from 2001 to 2003. This I believe: Teaching is the pursuit of social equality; it is the struggle for human understanding, not with what has already been said by the dead white guys that make up our canon necessarily, but I believe that the struggle is renewed for every person to find h/er voice in the world of dissonance and disconnect. |
