| Introduction | I am a certified BookAlcoholic, I spends much of my time promoting literacy and the joy of reading. I organized Shreveport’s first citywide–“One Book One City: Shreveport on the Same Page” in 2005. I also organized a book club that grew from seven members thirty-two and will celebrate 10 years of reading together in July 2010. Was member of the Northwest Louisiana Management Team for the 2009 The Big Read, an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts, designed to restore reading to the center of American culture and it brings together partners across the country to encourage reading for pleasure and enlightenment. I write poetry and prose and has written as a guest columnist for The Shreveport Times. I am passionate about the wholeness and well-being of women and purposely tries to inspire and encourage them to do things for themselves that will feed their souls and nourish their spirit. While living in Southern California, she organized several support groups for working women. I am married and have one son and one granddaughter. |
