About me

Gender Female
Industry Education
Location California's Central Coast, United States
Introduction I began sewing at five and made my first quilt in 1988, a king-sized lover's knot in dusty mauve and forest green. Hands-down, my favorite aspect of quiltmaking is sharing it with others while teaching. I enjoy antique quilts for themselves, yes, but even more so for what they tell us about the makers, their communities and how they lived.
Interests designing quilts, teaching patchwork and quilting, antique textiles, quilt history, English paper piecing
Favorite Books Barbara Brackman's Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns, Uncoverings, America's Heritage Quilts, Featherweight 221: The Perfect Portable, Dating Fabrics, Material Obsession, Barbara Brackman's Encyclopedia of Applique, Quick Quilts from Your Scrap Bag
