| Introduction | I grew up in a little town called Etlan, Virginia with my brother and sister and 17 cousins (just on my father's side, I also have 6 on my mother's side) who all lived nearby. My Father works on my grandparent's farm (and drives a truck when money is scarce) and my mother was an elementary school teacher for many years until she got her librarian's certificate and now she's an elementary school librarian. She will be able to retire at the end of this school year. So we didn't grow up being very wealthy, but we had everything we needed and lots of good times. We always went to church on Sundays, and, being Baptists, we always got fussed at if we forgot to take our Bibles! After graduating from Madison (the only high school in my county, with a graduating class of 151), I went to Christopher Newport University for a bachelors in history (I didn't really have a plan for that - I just liked the subject). While there I met my husband who was in the Navy and we now have our little girl, Isabelle and a son, Jack. So now I'm a stay at home mom who looks forward to getting out of the house and an end to the endless amounts of laundry and cleaning that goes into keeping up a household! |
