| Introduction | Lauren Soffe is a BFA graduate from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Her art is a way of transforming life experience into visual form. The interplay of what is public versus what is private is a theme found throughout her body of work. Driven by her curiosity and personal exploration of progressive material, like a mirror, her images make an attempt to reflect back to society a clearer picture of itself. While her emphasis is largely based in photography, she has a strong background in mixed media and fiber art that reveals a more conceptual process. She has exhibited her work in galleries in Nevada, Virginia, Utah, Indiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Vermont. |
