| Introduction | My Couriers Project is a combination of quilting and writing, a new creation and way to share my passions of quilting, writing and historical research. I taught children and teachers the love of reading and writing for thirty years. After leaving the classroom I was co-director of the Oakland Writing Project, worked on the Michigan ELA standards, published in the NCTE Language Arts and did research with the University of Michigan on middle school girls and their literacy. I have numerous picture books waiting to be published as well as two novels, one on a fifth grader and his teacher who love reading and the second on three girls who lost their fathers in World War II. |
