Favorite movies	Most Hitchcock films of the 1940s through '50s, especially NORTH BY NORTHWEST. Many Billy Wilder films of the 1940s to '60s. Mel Brooks comedies of the 1960s and '70s. Screwball comedies, films noir, and paranoia films.
Favorite music	Beatles, New Order, Marshall Crenshaw, Nick Lowe, pop music of the 1960s through '80s. Movie scores, especially those of Bernard Herrmann, Miklos Rozsa, John Morris.
Favorite books	The works of Donald E. Westlake, Robert Benchley, Dorothy B. Hughes, Jim Thompson, Judith Martin, S.J. Perelman, among others.
