| Introduction | I've had an interest in Photography since my late teens and owned an SLR since then. I've learnt a lot of the basics over the years from my late grandfather and many books. Professionally I've been a graphic designer (http://www.green-ink.co.uk) for the last 12 years (music and film industries), from this experience working with images on a daily basis, I've seen how much I love photography and the impacts it can have. At work I have managed to get into some minor studio work (pack shots and product photography). I've then had to deal with basic lighting, aperture, shutter speed and white balance settings. This time has also introduced me to a lot of other photographers. Expectations of this course: To see things I hadn't before in photographs, film, painting and illustrations and realise what and why I like and why it works. A structured learning technique. This is where I've really struggled on my own. What to try out and why will this help me progress my skills. No more random photos! I have a strong interest in Landscape and also Social documentation so I'm definitely thinking of taking a few more course after this one. |
